Bar Area
The brief from this client was to create an office space with a ‘Break Out’ area where staff and clients could gather for a drink or a conversation, void of any formalities. ‘How Group’ custom made the bar table with movable castors, giving the options of flexibility.
Break Out Area
The lounge area was created to encourage informal meetings in a relaxed and comfortable environment. The two three-seater sofas, in pale grey linen, are arranged around a felt charcoal ottoman that doubles as a coffee table.
The original white clad office walls were transformed with my two favourite elements, in the Cedar Battens and the ‘Raku’ Dulux charcoal, to add sophistication. In the corner sits the iconic ‘Grasshopper’ floor lamp, encouraging a feeling of warmth.
Work Station Detail
The ‘How A’ Workstations were chosen for their simplicity and masculine aesthetic. The worktops are in white laminate with oak edge, supported by ‘A’ frame black and oak legs. Soft grey felt dividers were selected for privacy and acoustics.
Conference Room
The boardroom table repeats the workstation design with the ‘A’ frame leg, yet finishes are reversed, with a top in oak veneer and edged in white. Eames white leather chairs surround the table.
The space is predominantly lit by the Muuto ‘Under the Bell’ grey felt pendant. The light is renown for it’s ability to absorb sound, improving acoustics in a meeting environment.
The use of warm tones and varied greys in this interior are reflected by the icon Melbourne skyline.
